If your Terrible Awful clutter secret is beside your bed, it’s time to make room for relaxation instead of frustration. Besides cleaning up the area, you’ll also change the flow of energy from stagnant to positive & fresh. That always produces a better night’s rest.
On your mark for organizing
- Prep by gathering cup of tea/coffee or favorite beverage and turning on your favorite music.
- Set Timer.
- GO!
EDIT BEDSIDE LANDSLIDE
- Remove everything cluttering bedside tables, floor, and bed.
- Sort accumulated items grouping like with like i.e. magazines vs hand lotions.
- Sort again grouping like with like i.e. Vogue vs Town & Country.
- Edit each group of like items committing to reading/using each item kept.
- Determine how many magazines or books you read at one time & keep those next to bed.
- Re-home back stock i.e. extra hand lotion, reading, pens, glasses, etc.
- Re-home non-sleep enhancing items i.e. electronics, workout gear (really?), etc.
- Donate no longer needed items.
- Keep your sleep essentials next to you bed. Suggestions:
- Coaster
- Flashlight
- Pen/Pencil
- Bookmark
- Book light
- Reading material
- Hand lotion
- Moisturizing gloves/socks
- Earplugs
- Eye sleep mask
- Candle & lighter
- Lavender sleep spray
Now that you have a relaxing sleep area, go to bed 30 minutes earlier to allow for time to read.
HINT: If you fall asleep 5 minutes after starting to read in bed like I do, night time isn’t your time. Find another time of the day to get your reading done & finally enjoy it.
