Thankfully Organized
November 3, 2014Help You Help a Friend
November 17, 2014Sometimes you just have to throw your To Do List & being organized out the window. I hear gasping in disbelief while others are cheering. Either way you lean, everyone will agree with the reason.
There are times when friends need their friends.
Not for minor emergencies like picking the right dress, flat tire or kid issues. These can fall in the most inconvenient of times. You might handle over the phone or send in someone else to cover for you & catch up later listening, empathizing & getting them going again. The emergencies I’m referring to are big
…when your friend looses a parent
…..everything stops.
When you start back up, it’s to cook, bake, communicate, send, organize & gather The List. You pull your favorite comfort recipe to cook. You bake your infamous pie. You communicate with the circle of friends on how best to comfort your friend & family. You send thoughts, prayers, comfort packages, a suitcase of clothes with a sweet note, flowers & cards. You organize meals. You gather items on The List.
None of this new organizing or new list making feels inconvenient. It is purposeful, needed & necessary. You can organize later & pick up your list another time. Now your organizing & list are the ones inconvenient & unnecessary.
So, on this anniversary of friends throwing their organizing & To Do Lists out the window for me when they showed up on my doorstep minutes into my emergency, I now throw my organizing & To Do List out the window to organize the most important list of all….
my friend’s.
