Memorial Day
May 26, 2014How Does She Do It?
June 16, 2014I just returned from my 2nd Annual NAPO – National Association of Professional Organizers – Conference. That’s the Nerd Conference to anyone outside of NAPO. It was amazing! I learned so much information, gained insight, made vital connections & was rejuvenated. But there’s one thing I learned that tied the whole experience together into a neat little package – which is good since I’m a Certified Professional Organizer.
Living takes a village of your Peeps.
Maybe that should be living takes a Hen House of your Peeps. Whatever, the village isn’t just for raising your kids. In the olden days, people who lived out on the prairie without extended family around were pitied. Why? Because they were so extremely vulnerable to all types of catastrophes; weather, bad people, animals, complacency. There’s even a new movie out about the 1000 ways you could die in the old west.
Why do we think that we are immune from those now? That we don’t need assistance living life, pursuing our dreams, bettering ourselves or just getting by.
Having your peeps around you keeps you strong, focused, improving & on the right path in life. They are there to be your inspiration, your confidant, your guide & your net. They come in all forms from your Maker, to your family/friends to colleagues. All fill a different role. Your Peeps are only good to you when you are equally good to them.
I invested in attending conference because my friends/family supported & celebrated my decision. Conference was amazing because my colleagues opened themselves freely for advice, knowledge, support & ideas. It was rewarding because I freely gave the same to those colleagues.
What does your village look like? Is the population low? Does a Peep need to relocate? Missing a Peep in a certain area? Sometimes a professional fills the role of a Peep i.e. Trainer, Counselor, Lawyer or even a Baker. Gather your Peeps. Hear them chirping. Hear them chirping you on to success. Then chirp them on too.
I’m here to help you by disclosing my knowledge of how to organize & be prepared for any situation. I will show you tips & tricks through posts on the Styled & Organized Living Facebook page, @StyledOrganized on Twitter & the Styled & Organized Living Pinterest page. Some posts will be simple tools while others will be ideas to consider. But all will show you how to gain a little more control over your life through organization because Life is Better Organized!
