Wardrobe Love Begins
November 10, 2013Wardrobe Love Accomplished!
November 25, 2013Now that you have everything off the floor of your closet, all non-wardrobe items removed (& hopefully relocated) it’s time to sort what remains. This is actually very easy.
Simply put all handbags together, all belts together, all tops together, all bottoms together, etc. Don’t micro-sort. That means, don’t separate blouses from sweaters. Just put all tops together.
1. Choose Pick a wardrobe group like belts or swimsuits or handbags where you have a small number of items in that group. Pull them out to a large workspace like your bed for easy viewing.
2. Edit Remove items that no longer love you, are worn, are damaged or you just don’t like. When finished, pick another small wardrobe group & repeat.
For damaged or dirty items, keep them in a special area to attend to later either by dropping them at the dry cleaners, tailors, shoe/handbag repair or for you to repair or clean at home.
3. Repeat Keep doing this until you have worked through all of your wardrobe groups & sorted broad wardrobe groups, top, into smaller groups, blouses vs sweaters. Starting small will build confidence as you complete each wardrobe group.
Don’t forget to give yourself breaks along the way. Your mind can only make so many decisions before it gets weary. And, if you have a helper around to assist with the hard decisions, you’ll progress more quickly.
I’m here to help you by disclosing my knowledge of how to organize & be prepared for any situation. I will show you tips & tricks through posts on the Styled & Organized Living Facebook page, @StyledOrganized on Twitter & the Styled & Organized Living Pinterest page. Some posts will be simple tools while others will be ideas to consider. But all will show you how to gain a little more control over your life through organization because Life is Better Organized!
