You Like Me! You Really, Really Like Me!
June 15, 2018Kitchen Organizing 101 – Part 1
July 2, 2018One four year old boy’s saying, “Don’t forget to show love”. How is it that a four year old boy gets the purpose of life while most of us struggle 50, 60, 70 years to grasp this? Austin Perine saves all his allowance to buy sandwiches to pass out to homeless people because they may be hungry. At four, he sees the big picture; showing love to others instead of buying more toys for himself.
So many days we are over scheduled & too tired to care for our families, ourselves, our friends or those in need. We feel entitled to buy one more shirt even though our closets are bursting. We feel we deserve take-out because we are tired while food goes bad in our fridge. We put off caring for our home while others long for a place of their own.
If you’ve fallen into this trap of always looking to have more, looking for the next best thing or the next inclusive activity, why not stop and look around at what you currently have. Take inventory. Tidy. Clean. Refresh. Eliminating excess things and activities from your schedule is powerfully freeing! You just might realize you have all you need, maybe need less and can share a little with others. What a great way to spend your summer.
