The S&O Guide to Being Prepared for (Almost) Anything: Organizing Your Most Important Documents
September 19, 2016The S&O Guide to Being Prepared for (Almost) Anything: Why You Should Have a Home Inventory
September 29, 2016Ah, it’s time for fall…cooler weather, deeper colors, richer fabrics, scarves, boots and change. Being in the south, we have yet to see the cooler weather, but I’m assured it’s coming. As for fall fashions, they are here. The theme this fall is “Anything Goes.” With so much uncertainty in every facet of the world, fashion designers are leading a revolt to take back some control (?? Are the fashion designers taking control or giving control to the wearers?) in our fashion lives by challenging traditionally acceptable styles. Standard fashion guidelines are out with last season’s fashion trends, and you are in the designer chair. “Must Haves” trends are almost endless. Let’s just say it will be hard this fall to make a fashion faux pas. SO, what’s in the dress-up box you ask? Beautiful, endless options!
80’s
Leopard coats
Military jackets & sailor pants
1910 style booties
POET BLOUSES
Leg-o-mutton or trunk shaped sleeves – think full by shoulder & tapered to wrist
Brocade & velvet
Mix & match patterns, fabrics, day to night, dressy & casual
VELVET BOOTS
Block heels or wedges with long skirts
BELTS
Red, white, black combination
Yellow “gold”/mustard & yummy pumpkin
Oversized chain straps handbags
Track pants with cuff at ankle
Minaudière or tiny evening handbags with beautiful adornments
I could go on and on but these are some of the best and possibly easiest to incorporate into your current fall/winter wardrobe. Some are staples for fall; military & leopard. Others are long lost friends come home; velvet, brocade, pattern. Some you might have done at it’s inception & want to skip; 80’s. Or there might be a trend that doesn’t fit your silhouette or taste; belts, poet blouses.
The true beauty of this fall’s fashion is that you decide what is fashionable. You’re in control. You’re the designer. And that is going to make for a creative, interesting & fun fall fashion season.
