Fun Thanksgiving Facts
November 24, 2015Five Easy Steps to Trimming Your Tree
December 7, 2015Now that Thanksgiving is over it’s time to get moving on all December holidays. No matter how you celebrate, there are probably some greeting cards that need to go out and go out soon. For those of you who already have your cards out (my friend, Lesa) this blog is not for you. But, for those who see this as an incredibly daunting task making you weak in the knees & mildly nauseous, I’m going to tell you how to break this mountain down into little, easy, climbable hills.
Locate any & all previously unused holiday cards, return labels, stamps & address list from seasons past. Check all suspect locations; packed away with holiday decor, tucked in back of desk or supply closet, top of your wardrobe closet, catch-all drawer, etc. This becomes an easy task when you are pulling out all holiday decor, candles, linens, etc.
Determine who will receive a card or greeting from you this year. Once you have a general number, add on 10 for those you are bound to momentarily forget or are straddling the sleigh about. Don’t add on any extra pressure by requiring a final number. You have enough stress already!
Decide if you are sending ecards, paper cards or a combination. Either is acceptable. It might just depend on the recipient & what they would enjoy receiving.
Select your ecard, paper cards & stamps. All three of these can be done online, yes, even your holiday stamps! No more standing in a long Post Office line wondering all the while if they will have a stamp you fancy. Everything the Post Office sells is online & delivered to your mail box for a few dollars. Genius!
Compose just 5-10 cards a day to get these completed & out the door. For paper cards, start by addressing & stamping the envelope of those that live the furthest away, then sign the inside with a small note if you choose. Finally, always keep a checklist of sent cards. Nothing is worse then trying to remember which cards were already sent.
You’ll be done in a wink of an eye & able to enjoy the holiday guilt free.
