Do You Have Too Much Stuff?
April 23, 2012Clutter Proof Your Handbag
May 29, 2012If your schools are like most school districts, you have about 9 week days before school comes to an end. This CAN be a good thing if you are ready. Summer gives you time to do fun things with your kids & spend time with them making family memories.
I know you’re re-running in your mind last summer’s chaotic, crazy, messy, tiring, endless entertaining, endless feeding, nutty family film from last year. Don’t do that…..start picturing what you really want to happen this summer. Now keep that film running in your head & follow these tips to get you there.
1. Have a Vision. It doesn’t matter what your vision is just that you have one for your beautiful family.
2. Switch It. If it doesn’t look like summer, feel like summer or smell like summer, tuck it away. Then, find those things around your home that scream summer.
a.Throws vs Beach Towels
b.Cinnamon Candles vs Summer Breeze Candles
c.Dishes vs Plastic Dishes for eating outside
d.School Supplies vs Forgotten Games
e.School Clothes/Uniforms vs Shorts, T-Shirts & Swimsuits
f.Lunch Boxes vs Ice Cream Cones
3.Take a Poll. Create your summer fun by taking a poll from each family member of what they want to do this summer. From the suggestions, create a plan for each week.
4.Take a Vacation. Don’t forget to plan a family vacation even if it is a stay-cation. Then splatter your weeks with a few Big Fun Days i.e. Six Flags. Fill in with movies, family games, crafts/art, pool time, hiking, dog park… A museum would be great for the 100+ degree day.
5.Capture. Capture all those wonderful family memories on your camera, in Facebook, have your kids write about the events in the pictures & include them in an online photo book with your photos.
