January 13, 2019A Triumphant, Efficient & Nurturing Life
Ah January…the month to make and break resolutions. We start the new year with so much hope for better results this time around, but in two short weeks most of our good works have fallen to the wayside. If this is you…or worse, you didn’t make any resolutions….I have a suggestion for you.
Decide to live a triumphant, efficient and nurturing life. A life that feels like a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 — with 10 being the best of course. Or as Oprah would say it’s your best life. Martha Stewart tells us it’s a good thing. You’ve heard other descriptions of an amazing life.
“Live life to the fullest” Matt Cameron
“Don’t go through life, grow through life” Eric Buttersworth
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist” Oscar Wilde
“Happiness is not a goal….it is a by-product of a life well lived” Eleanor Roosevelt
“A life lived as a TEN is a life filled with self-love & respect” Leticia Pfeiffer
Finding that life well lived is hard when life gets in the way. After taking care of everyone down to the family pet, when is there time for you to grow and live life to the fullest? Right now, in your current living environment, there might not be time. If the numbers on your calendar are screaming for space, your office desk buckling from the heavy stacks, you car looks like the city dump or the stuff in your home is pushing you out the door, you aren’t living your best life.
What is the instant, gratifying solution? There isn’t one. But there is a solution that requires a little hard work and patience offering endless rewards. It will take your life from chaos & drama to easy & efficient. From crying, screaming, depressive states to pure triumph. But most of all, from each day sucking the life out of you to a life that nurtures you so you can nurture others. And, that my friends, is a very good thing.
So think this next week about what type of life you want to see at the end of 2019. Weigh the pros and cons of doing the work to change vs staying in your drowning stagnation. Freedom vs shackles. Feeling like a servant to happily giving to others. It won’t be a perfect life everyday. It will give you the basic support needed to get your through the difficult ones. So what did you choose?
