How to Motivate Yourself to Tidy When You are Too Tired
January 9, 2012What is This Thing Called Organization?
January 24, 2012Martin Luther King was an amazing man. He had faults like the rest of us. Still he achieved great things because of his dream of what life could look like, the goals he set & the determination to achieve his dream. So why did Dr. King’s dream prevail over his challenges – his own inner challenges and ones from the outside?
1. He Looked to the Past
In reflecting what life had been like, he could see the things he liked but more importantly the things he wanted to change. He may have even written these down to help him remember.
2. He Looked to the Future
Daydreaming about what life could be like, letting his imagination run wild, allowed Dr. King to create a picture that was expressible to himself and to others. He wrote these down to share with us all. Refresh your memory of his dream.

He was Determined

Dr. King allowed his dream to motivate him on a daily basis and guide his decisions on how & with whom to spend his time. He set his goals above other’s goals because he was determined to fulfill his dream. He understood the right time to say yes to a request because he based his decision on his goal, his dream.

You can follow the same 3 steps to help you achieve your goals, your dreams. Look to the Past, Look to the Future & Be Determined.
Remember, when you say yes to someone who asks for your time, you are putting their dreams ahead of yours unless they are the same. How long do you want to continue to support someone else’s dreams? How long do you want to put off realizing your dream?
