Keep Hand Tools Handy
June 9, 2013For the Love of the Game
June 24, 2013Fifteen years ago this November I lost my father to a massive heart attack. He had just come in from a run. This fact defines me everyday now. But there are so many more wonderful things about my dad that define me even more. And I’m grateful to have a designated day to remember & thank the father who shaped me into the woman I am today.
He was an abused child who showed me how to love
He was an orphan who loved my mother’s family as his own
He was a foster child who showed me how to respect those who go to bat for you or take an interest in your life
He was a prankster as boys tend to be who taught me to laugh
He was a bit of a rebel who taught me to speak my mind & stand up for my beliefs
He was a Marine who taught me to love my country for the good & the bad
He was a husband who taught me marriage can be the most wonderful relationship in the world
He was a man who taught me to take responsibility for & appreciate the things in my life
He was a father who taught me that even they are sad & a little mushy when their daughters marry
He was a grandparent who showed me just how much he loved his family he had worked hard to create
He was a Christian who showed me a daily walk with God will bring you through any difficulty
Who can ask for more from their father?
