Easy Trick to Eliminate Clutter
July 23, 2012Why You’re Still Not Organized at the Olympic Level
August 6, 2012Dun du-du dun du-du DUUUUN DUUUUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN ….. It’s the Olympic! I love the Olympic music. It gives me chills & my adrenaline starts flowing in anticipation of the games. After waiting 4 whole years, it’s time for the glory, excitement & heartbreak from watching the best of the best strive for the ultimate prize.
For some individuals & countries, just arriving at the Olympics is that ultimate prize. Others, it’s making it into the finals to actually compete. And for the few, being on the podium at the end of the day either seeing your flag raised or hearing your national anthem at the same time is grasping that brass ring.
Olympians train all their lives to have this honor and we celebrate their efforts. There is a commercial this year that compares the everyday lives of Olympians with our everyday lives; they get up like us, wait in line like us, watch the clock at the end of the day like us, etc. It’s very clever….and very true.
They are like us with goals to achieve & responsibilities to maintain. Getting through a day’s schedule of family events, works constraints and family responsibilities can make you feel like you’re training for the Olympics but without the final competition, reward for a job well done or break from routine.
After the games are over, the Olympians will take time off to evaluate their performance, rest their bodies & minds as well as celebrate their achievements. When was the last time you did this for your daily Olympic efforts?
