March 2, 20155 Tricks to Get You Organized
March 16, 2015With an industry only formally 24 years old, I get a lot of questions of what I do & how I do it….questions or more commonly blank stares which usually means they don’t even know what questions to ask. So I thought I would answer the main questions I receive on a daily basis.
Top 10 Most Popular Organizing Questions
-
What is a Professional Organizer? We coach & assist clients in sorting, editing & finding homes for their things at home & work while creating systems to maintain the new organization. We also coach & teach time management skills.
-
Do you work with the client or alone? Either, but coaching cannot happen without the client being present.
-
Do you make clients throw everything away? Absolutely not! We work together to decide what should be donated, recycled, discarded or kept.
-
How long does it take to finish a closet? Every space varies depending on size, amount of items in the space & how quickly a client makes decisions. However, most spaces can be organized in a day.
-
Are there others like you? Yes! The National Association of Professional Organizers, NAPO, boast world wide membership with sister associations in Canada, Europe & Asia. About 700 members attend conference every year.
-

-
I need you in my office & home but am embarrassed for you to even see either space! There is no judging in what I do. You’re not embarrassed when you meet with your financial advisor. You are just ready to learn from their expertise & improve your financial position. They are ready to make you more money. My relationship with clients is exactly the same. Being organized creates time & keeps you from buying what you already have. Both make you money.
-
How did you get into this line of work? I have always organized for friends & family & decided to start my business before I even knew about NAPO. I love helping people create the life, home & business environment they always dreamed of living.
-
How did you get the name Leticia? My great, great grandmother Mary Leticia Emmaline Fowler crossed the prairie in a covered wagon. My parents thought that being born in Morocco, Africa was much the same & so chose that name for me.
