March 24, 2014Creating amazing memories, deepening bonds, reliving & sharing stories, sharing your bounty, pampering, catching up & learning more about each other are the best reasons for entertaining house guests. The mess left behind is the hangover.
With Spring Break vacations wrapping up, this next week will see families returning home with luggage full of laundry & others cleaning up their homes after family or friends end their visits. My sister & 3 beautiful nieces just flew back to their frozen tundra after a week here in Dallas visiting. We created so many funny, fun & special memories, but six ladies in a home equals a recipe for mess, laundry & dishes.
What do you do when your guests leave to reclaim your home & prepare for the next week? It takes a little effort; however, these 5 simple steps will lead you down the path to recovery.
1.Laundry. Laundry, Laundry Gather & get the laundry going so it can be working while you are doing other things.
2.Kitchen Load your dishwasher, hand wash your specialty items, clean your work surfaces, sweep your floor & make a cup of tea.
3.Shopping List You need to start a shopping list of depleted items. Enjoy your cup of tea while you start this list & possibly clip/gather your coupons.
4.Tidy Each room will need a little refresh of pillows, throws, chairs, etc. This also gives you an opportunity to spot an item your guests may have left behind.
5.Nap You deserve it so enjoy!
Getting at these 5 simple steps quickly will allow you to relax, reminisce & enjoy your new memories in a clutter free home.
