Happy Thanksgiving
November 24, 2014Holidays Unscathed
December 9, 2014It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Until it’s not. And that might be right about now. That’s especially true if you spent the end of last week cozying up to throngs of people tirelessly fighting to find the perfect gift at an unbelievable price. The unbelievable price could be the the lack of sleep, swollen feet & aching back from hours upon hours of shopping.
At this busy time of year for everyone, there are 5 things we can all learn from Santa Claus. Let’s face it, the man is an organizing genius.
Make a List We’re starting with the most obvious of things Santa does to stay on top of the chaos for the holidays. Whether you use a fancy app or your fun note pad, write it down. He does this because it works.
Sustenance You can get so busy you forget to eat & hydrate, you forget to feed the troops (the family) or you forget to treat yourself for a job well done. Santa is always ready for his milk & cookies. And he takes a minute to sit & eat them. At least at my house he does.
Assistance He pulls in help from his Elves, The Elf on the Shelf in every home, Reindeer, Rudolph in bad weather, each family for treats, Santas in malls, bell ringers, anyone gifting to needy & especially his spouse, Mrs. Claus. That’s a lot of help!
Laughter Even when dropping down a sooty chimney lugging a big sack of toys, laugh as if your stomach is like a bowl full of jelly, have a twinkle in your eyes merrily showing off your dimples no matter what the task.
Spirit of Giving Santa keeps his focus on giving kindly to all those who are in need. Sometimes we just need the gift of hope to believe good will happen.
So whether you celebrate Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Twelves Days of Christmas, Saint Nicholas’ Day, Our Lady of Guadalupe or one of the many other celebrations this time of year, follow Santa’s example. It will keep you going, happy & focused on the fun of giving to others.
I’m here to help you by disclosing my knowledge of how to organize & be prepared for any situation. I will show you tips & tricks through posts on the Styled & Organized Living Facebook page, @StyledOrganized on Twitter & the Styled & Organized Living Pinterest page. Some posts will be simple tools while others will be ideas to consider. But all will show you how to gain a little more control over your life through organization because Life is Better Organized!
