Life is Better Organized!
July 2, 2012Hitting a Wall: Organizational Motivation
July 16, 2012If you are organized–your garden tended, your scrapbooking supplies corralled, your emergency pantry stocked–you can share a talent or passion while minding your manners.
You’ve been invited to a party at someone’s home. It’s a casual affair. They’ve asked for everyone just to bring their happy faces. But, being the good Southern-raised person that you are, you feel empty handed walking out the door without a hostess gift.
There are several standard options purchased from stores that serve very well as hostess gifts. Items any home & hostess would be happy to receive from candles to custom infused olive oil. However, wouldn’t it be nice to take not only a token of your appreciation but to make it more intimate by including a little of your personality?
Here are some “homegrown” ideas that cost little money while highlighting your creativity & personality.
1. Garden? Take a beautiful bouquet showing off your favorite blooms. It will be the centerpiece of the event.
2. Herbs? Create an attractive flower pot with a selection of herb clippings from your garden. Your hostess will be able to start her own herb garden.
3. Paint? Paint an original thank you card. It will be something she can frame & have for an instant one-of-a-kind art.
4. Scrapbook? Use your supplies to make a cute notepad holder . Your hostess will always remember you while making her To Do List.
5. Bake? Whip up a favorite delicacy. Something to be savored the day after the event.
Hostess gifts let your hostess know you appreciate her taking time to open her home to you. Why not make it something that not only exemplifies you but also shows you cared enough to share your very best too?
