School’s almost out for summer. Now what? Either you’re still going to work or you’ll be at your home with your kids all day. You need something for them to do so they don’t drive you insane with the, “We’re bored!” statement. Who can blame them? They’ve been cooped up in a school all year. Their every move & thought directed. Mix it up with downtime & scheduled fun time.
Here are some ideas to keep them busy, freshen their minds, build memories & save your sanity.
Fee-based activities
- Local community college or university summer education programs
- Private school summer camps
- Dance academy summer programs
- Local international school summer camp
- Local museum summer camps
- City of (fill in the blank) recreation classes
- Local library summer programs
Free activities
- Utilize your memberships to a country club, a pool, a gym, YMCA, etc
- Involve your kids in projects around your home.
- Create photo albums together
- Garden
- Edit & organize their toys
- Cooking
- Baking
- Minor home repairs
- Wash the dogs
- Walk the dogs
- Paint, sew or any other craft that interests children
Summer is the time to try new things, learn new skills & discover more about likes & dislikes. Don’t let another summer get shipwrecked on the isle of TV & missed opportunities. Offer your kids new experiences. You just might learn something new about them.
I’m here to help you by disclosing my knowledge of how to organize & be prepared for any situation. I will show you tips & tricks through posts on the Styled & Organized Living Facebook page, @StyledOrganized on Twitter & the Styled & Organized Living Pinterest page. Some posts will be simple tools while others will be ideas to consider. But all will show you how to gain a little more control over your life through organization because Life is Better Organized!
Leticia Pfeiffer
I started organizing from a very early age. As a teenager, I tried very hard to have a messy room but only ended up having messy piles that were neatly arranged. Later in life, my friends started asking me to help them organize their closets, homes, garages, etc. It's something I love to do!
Now, I have started a Professional Organizing business to do what I love to do everyday and at the same time help people take control of their lives and spaces.
