February 24, 2015Popular Organizing Questions
March 9, 2015After dissecting the ladies Oscar 2015 red carpet fashions, it’s only fair that I look at all the eye candy, I mean men, who walked the same infamous red carpet. The new trend for men goes back to old Hollywood glamor. This is a good thing.
One gentleman taking this trend to the day-to-day is Thomas Mastronardi, CMO atPaul Stuart fine men’s clothing. Mr. Mastronardi noticed early on that the dapper gent always ended up with the beautiful girl in movies. If you’re female, your response to that is, “DUH!”. “There’s nothing better than a sharp dressed man”…..even with a long beard.
So here’s a look at my Top 10 Men’s Oscar Red Carpet Fashions.
10. This will become an iconic picture. Old Hollywood talent & sophistication with New Hollywood talent & sophistication. Sometimes 10 is the epitome of the best, as in this case. Clint Eastwood in a modern tuxedo with Bradley Cooper in a throwback vested 70‘s tuxedo makes for a perfect 10!
9. I just saw Adam Levine in concert when he opened the Maroon 5 tour last week in Dallas. I have to say that he was lovely to look at on stage, but this is so much better. Armani tuxedo to match your wife’s Armani Prive dress. Perfectly suited for each other; the couple & each to their dress.
8. Chris Pratt in Tom Ford with a little wider lapel & bowtie help balance his broad chest & fuller face; a very nice chest & face to be sure.
7. This red Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo with vest is incredibly sexy on David Oyelowo. And his casual, relaxed air about him makes it even more so. Do you have to be British to pull off something so unexpected? I don’t think so.
6. I know you might be thinking Jared Leto in Givenchy might be over the top, but really, it’s masterful. The color plays off his light, fun personality & the boutonnière is the classic touch. Not to mention that it’s a perfect fit.
5. Is there anything Channing Tatum doesn’t wear well? Going with the slender lapels & bowtie Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo creates a very slender look to his muscular body.
4. Michael Keaton has always been a favorite of mine; Mr. Mom, Beetlejuice, Batman. Here in Ralph Lauren, he shows how the extraordinary, everyman goes to the ball. The slender lapels & bowtie keep from overwhelming his small frame while the strong shoulders bolster him.
3. Umm…Chris Pine in double breasted Armani….very Roger Moore as James Bond. Perfection.
2. You have to be really confident & cool to wear a white dinner jacket to the Oscars. But leave it to a Brit to pull it off effortlessly. A Brit with the super cool name Benedict Cumberbatch.
1. Eddie Redmayne not only won the Oscar but also the best dressed with his perfect,Alexander McQueen, two-toned tuxedo. It was a big trend on the red carpet again and Mr. Redmayne wore it well.
