February 11, 2013Organize Your Garden
February 25, 2013A little planning creates a lot of beauty…
This winter has seen some crazy weather. One day it’s almost 80 degrees & the next down in the 50’s or less. It’s hard to imagine that spring is only 5 weeks away! But even before the official day of spring, March 20th, we will experience warm, sunny afternoons, thunderstorms, kite flying days & rebirth of beauty. An afternoon in February is all it takes to prepare your garden to bloom in March.
1. Sweep it Away! That’s right. Move the cars out of the garage & give the space a good sweeping. Your blower works well here too really getting the dust & dust bunnies out. Just be sure you have good aim.
2. Put it Away! All those things you have laid down for just a second because it was really too cold in the garage to put it back properly need to now find their cozy, tidy home.
3. Chuck it Away! Donate, recycle or trash anything you don’t want or need any longer. Check with your city about hazardous waste pick-up for paint & other chemicals you no longer need.
4. Take Stock. Do you have enough fertilizer, weed killer, gloves, spray nozzles, hoses, garden clipping bags, etc to tackle your spring garden?
