I know it’s still June, but it already feels like July 4th week.  Maybe that’s because it’s not so blazing hot & you can still go outside.  Or maybe it’s because my aunt’s are coming to town an we’ll start our holiday.  My whole weekend will be filled with shopping – we are talking about women –  fireworks, eating & visiting.  Whatever the reason, I’m really looking forward to celebrating this year.

And I should be.  You should be too.

It’s a time to celebrate our independence, our plan for democracy we gave to the world.  It revolutionized societies.  It declares everyone has the same value.  No more king or queen.  No more levels in society.  Everyone deserves the same under the law.  Freedom for all.

We have won & declared this independence over & over on our soil & across the globe.  We don’t always get it right.  We don’t always win.  Everyone is not always in it for the right reasons, but the majority of us are.

The intelligence of the men who wrote our declaration to the world amazes me.  As does their bravado, courage, passion, focus & love of country.  Americans, we should be proud of who we are & our successes.  Let’s celebrate that this week.
