5 Reasons to be Organized

We all have New Year’s Resolutions even if we don’t consciously determine them.  And if you haven’t taken a single second to come up with one, the media certainly gave you the lot from which to choose.  One of the biggest resolutions for a large percentage of people is to to be more organized.  So, for those of you who have chosen this resolution (and it is a good one), here’s a little motivation to keep you on the path.  For those of you who have not chosen this as a resolution, here is some enticement to reconsider because …..Life is Better Organized.

1.  Saves you time.  You can either spend a little bit of time putting items back in their home or countless minutes looking for them in a pile of stuff on your countertop, floor or chair.

2.  Reduces stress.   Instead of cursing under your breath as you run around searching frantically for what you need, you can calming run to the exact spot an item is stored.  Besides, doesn’t everything deserve a good home?

3.  Prevents double booking.  Don’t you hate it when someone calls to confirm an appointment only to reveal to you that you are double booked?  Keeping a calendar & checking it throughout the day helps to prevent this little embarrassing issue.

4.  Untidiness costs you money.  Buying what you already have but cannot find.  Buying what was ruined because something was not stored properly.  Buying without your coupons or gift cards.

AND Number 5!

5.  Allows you to sleep longer.  If you prepare the night before for the day ahead, you won’t spend valuable sleeping time in the morning running around looking for what you need to get out the door.  This should be the only reason you need.

It’s a crazy world out there.  Certainly much more scheduled every single minute of the day that our parents handled.  We didn’t even deal with this much activity as kids.  Staying on top of it all while managing your household & household affairs takes skill.  Skill that you can learn if it does not come naturally to you.  It you can get this skill down, then all the other New Year’s Resolutions you also have in the back of your mind will be much more attainable because you’ll be rested, less stressed, have more time, won’t be overbooked & will have extra money.
