Longchamp Wallet Magic

Who isn’t on the ultimate lifetime search for a wallet that actually works? It is one of my strongest memories of my dad: his search for the perfect wallet!  Every time we were in a store that had men’s goods, my dad would riffle through wallets looking for the Z-wallet.  I know because I asked him one day why he didn’t just buy one of the many wallets he had just examined.  With disgust, he told me none were worthy.  Then he explained the perfect men’s wallet to me.  The Z design & why that design worked for him.  I was very young then but understood that wallets were off the table as a gift option for my dad.

Then, I grew up and discovered his pain of trying to find a wallet that actually works.  For me and probably for you too, it includes having enough slots for credit/gift/whatever cards.  There are never enough.  And the wallet industry knows this fact.  How do I know this?  They design supplemental credit card holders for you to purchase!  I always advise clients to keep like items together.  A supplemental credit card holder isn’t keeping like items together.

Last month, I visited the new Longchamp store at NorthPark Center.  I have always loved their subtle design aesthetic.  Sophisticated & beautiful without screaming here’s my logo.  I prefer not to be a brightly lit billboard for others.  After drooling over the new fall handbags & clutches, I perused the wallets.  A light shone down while a choir of angles sang.  The perfect women’s wallet was in my hand!  14 credit card slots & a receipt compartment as an added bonus!

Truly, what makes the perfect wallet is very personal however Longchamp has let us know designers can make beautiful wallets with the organizational tools we long for.  Oh, and their men’s wallets are awesome too even if they don’t offer a Z-wallet design.
