Everyone remembers the amazing closet in the movie Clueless. For those of you who won’t admit to seeing it, after selecting her outfit on her computer, it rotated just like your dry cleaners putting her outfit together. As if anyone’s closet could do that.
Your closet might not be big enough to rotate, but it can still be your dream closet that makes you smile every time you open it’s door. Start doing these 5 things and watch the magic transformation.
- Stop Dumping/Pitching/Cramming/Stuffing/Shoving anything into your closet. It called me and told me these words are hurtful.
- Hang like items together. We all like the security of being around people like us. So do your clothes.
- Face everything hanging the same direction. Would you want to stand backwards in line right in someone’s face? Neither do your clothes.
- Put your shoes on something other than the floor. Your floor is for standing so you can reach what you need or put something away. When you floor is full, you start dumping/pitching/cramming/stuffing/shoving…..see #1 about this problem.
- Stuff your handbags to keep their shape. It’s the same as you putting on your anti-wrinkle, firming face treatment.
When you have these done, it will be a whole lot easier to see what should be edited out. Remember, purging is something you are made to do. Editing is something even Jackie Kennedy did to always present her best self.
